Here’s a mental list I’ve been compiling based on feedback from the V1:

NYS Trooper: Ka and Laser
Monroe County Sheriff: Ka
East Rochester Police: K
Greece Police: K

Other than automatic door openers, I’ve never seen anyone using X band around here, so I disabled it.

Those programmable, transportable roadside construction signs use K band. I wonder if they are recording vehicle speed data as people drive by?

LS9 Engine

This is an expanded view of the LS9 engine introduced with the 2009 Corvette. My desktop has been set to this for awhile- I love seeing all the parts laid out. It’s like a glorified version of the Lego Technic sets I built as a kid. If this engine was sold as a kit including building instructions, that would be phenomenal.

Dakar Rally 2009

After last year’s Dakar Rally was cancelled, it was exciting to see the race return this year with a new location: South America. Jalopnik recently published a gallery of race photos here. I’ve got a lot of respect for the drivers and teams that compete in this race. Maybe I’m in the wrong industry, because I would love to participate in this event at some level.

Saw this photo today on Jalopnik. I believe it’s the headquarters of DriversDoor, whose editor-in-chief Jay Lamm leads The 24 Hours of LeMons.

Someday I’ll find the right location and build something similar to this.
